Description

Equisetum hyemale is an architectural marginal plant for pond edges, boggy ground, and shallow water. It forms upright, hollow, bamboo-like stems with dark green color and black-and-gray banding at the nodes. This species is valued for year-round structure in water gardens and naturalistic pond planting. Gardenia lists a mature height of about 60-120 cm and use in standing water up to 10 cm deep. Best for: pond margins, bog gardens, shallow water planting, containers, and vertical accents.
